Torah Upon Me

As I started this series Hearing & Discerning God’s Voice, I received a brief confirming dream. 

I was laying on the ground.  I noticed that Torah (my spiritual guard dog) was laying on top of me on my chest.  His paws were stretched toward my head.  He was not heavy, nor did I feel his weight. 

When I awoke, I heard ‘Wisdom is known by her children’.  Luke 7:35: But wisdom is justified by all her children. 

How does that verse apply to this series I thought?  An explanation I found helpful: “Yet Wisdom is shown to be right by what its followers do.  The phrase ‘wisdom is justified of her children’ means the correctness of an action will become evident in the outcome that action produces.”

After more prayer, I heard “The Spirit of the Lord is UPON ME…” (Isaiah 11:2 & 64:1).  The Spirit being Torah (lying on my chest)!  If you recall Torah was the German Shepherd I adopted (in a dream) in the spring of this year.  Upon waking, I was prompted to ask God the name of the dog. Immediately, I heard “Torah”.  So, I looked up what Torah meant. Besides being the first five books of the Hebrew bible; “Torah” in Hebrew is derived from the root which means ‘to guide’ or ‘to teach’.

Torah has been seen a few times in dreams: 

Though I have surmised that Torah is an angel, further encounters along with scripture indicate He could represent the Angel of the Lord or the Holy Spirit.  In addition, I believe seeing Torah was a reference to the subject I was preparing as his name means to guide or to teach.  And the phrase ‘Wisdom is justified by her children’ says to me if we learn what the Lord will impart to us in this series, then it will produce the action He wants.  Hearing His voice with confidence and accuracy.
