A Heavenly Laboratory of Intercession

If you have been reading this blog for the past couple months, you know I have been doing what some people might call teaching on prayer and intercession. And true to what intercession is, God tapped me on the shoulder to intercede for an individual, Elon Musk. So instead of studying what intercession is, the Lord has brought us into the workshop of life to intercede in a real way for a person who has influence over the world at this time.

The Holy Spirit has provided an exercise in prayer at a moment in time when God is quickening a move of His Spirit. The Lord is leading this experiment and if you’re praying for the subject at hand, you will have a portion of the reward.

In Acts 8:34-35, we have a biblical example of one seeking the truth and who would become an instrument to spread the Gospel further. “The story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch provides a transition in Acts from phase one to phase two of the mission set forth in Acts 1:8:

 “…you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Commentary on Acts 8:26-39.

The eunuch replied to Philip, “Please tell me, about whom does the prophet say this? About himself or about someone else?” Then Philip spoke and beginning with this Scripture he preached Jesus to him [explaining that He is the promised Messiah and the source of salvation].

“The Spirit of God had gone ahead to prepare the heart and also to prepare the messenger. This leading of the Spirit of God is absolutely essential. I’m afraid that a great deal of personal work is done in a haphazard manner and without the leading of the Spirit of God. It is not simply that we need the Holy Spirit to lead us. What we need is for the “Spirit of God to go ahead of us and prepare the way, then to call us up to where He is. We want to go where the Spirit of God is moving.” Excerpt: J. Vernon McGee.

You know this is a work of the Spirit when God brings up a subject that you have no knowledge of or background with, such is the case with Elon Musk. I had no interest in him, certainly never read or listen to anything about him until the Spirit shown the light of Heaven on this man and said “Pray for him to ask Me for the Living Waters of life.”

As intercessors, we have nothing to gain on this earth except to see our prayers answered. Our reward as intercessors is in heaven and the knowing that we have done what the Lord has requested of us being faithful and obedient. Nonetheless we could see a reward on earth according to Matthew 6:6: But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

In this case study, we are using singing, praise, prophetic proclamations, pin-pointed scriptures and instructions in conjunction with heart-felt prayer to bring a sinner to salvation. And this one person’s salvation will have an impact on millions in the future.

What joy and excitement to see the Lord work on behalf of our requests that we make in earnest because the Lord our God has asked us to. I believe we will see the salvation of a very powerful man. A good example to carry forth into future intercession jobs.

I hope you have enjoyed this lab work we have been given, and I pray God gives us patience to continue the work until we see the fulfillment. We shall have joy like the angels in heaven when this sinner repents!
