Workplace Miracles: Returned Boxes

What thrills me about these past true events are that they were a witness to those around me that God is real and He is alive and He answers prayer.

Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things. Who is like YOU, God?  Psalm 71:19.

In August 1995, I started a new job at Iron Mountain, but how I got the job was miraculous.  I answered an ad in the paper not knowing the company. Before the interview I prayed that I would know someone who worked there as a sign I was to take the job.  During the interview the General Manager (John) abruptly left the room and returned with Taunya, a coworker from my former employer!  Needless to say, I was thrilled…that was my sign to take the job.  I was hired as the face to the customers and Taunya did the sales.

Taunya and I worked together at Dun & Bradstreet years earlier. however, she left the company and I lost track of her until seeing her again at Iron Mountain as my sign.

During my first week at Iron Mountain, a serious situation happened; our company lost seven boxes of County warrants.  The GM told me I had to go tell the customer we lost their boxes and I had to face the consequences that next Monday. 

Monday morning came and I prayed all weekend because I was so scared to tell the customer.  At the traffic light to turn into the company’s parking lot, I had a vision of a good Samaritan who found the lost boxes in a ravine next to a road. and returned them to us.  During our morning meeting before I had to leave and face the customer, I said, “You never know if a good Samaritan might find the boxes in a ravine and return them to us”.  Everyone laughed.

Save me, O God, by Your name; vindicate me by Your might. Psalm 54:1.

I had the uncomfortable customer meeting yet; they were kind to me.  Upon my return to the office the GM was frantic to see me.  He told me while I was gone, he got a call from the police that a good Samaritan had found the boxes in a ravine by the side of a road and turned them in to the police station!  The GM, an unbeliever, was floored that God told me ahead of time. The entire branch heard of the wonder!

Now who could orchestrate that except our GOD?

Who among the gods is like YOU, Lord? Who is like YOU— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Exodus 15:11.
