Matthew 11:10 “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, who will prepare Your way before You…”
Who is to come to prepare the way of the LORD today? Elijah…and who is Elijah? “Elijah the Prophet stands as one of the most significant figures in the Old Testament, renowned for his unwavering faith, miraculous deeds, and pivotal role in the spiritual history of Israel. His life and ministry are primarily recorded in the books of 1 Kings and 2 Kings, where he emerges as a powerful voice for God during a time of rampant idolatry and moral decline in the Northern Kingdom of Israel.”
In 2014 I was called to prepare the way of the Lord. Lead out those who have eyes but are blind, who have ears but are deaf. Isaiah 43:8
Given that background, I listened to Jonathan Cahn (Beth Israel Special Online) on January 11 2026. As Jonathan was speaking, my deaf ear was pinging constantly until his message stopped!
“2026 will be critical in regard to America, the world, and where we are that we have a window of time and this year is going to be the middle of the window after which we move out of the window and the only thing that can save America is revival.
We’re going to be flames of revival for the ages. We have to pray for revival pray for that. And the second main word for this year is Elijah. To live according to the example of Elijah, the power of Elijah, who lived in a nation that was falling from God, and he was strong, prophetic, and used mightily.”
And then God told me to go to page 182 in a book called Elijah Among Us by John Loren Sandford. Under the title ‘The Purpose of Prophets’, “They are to prepare the way for the 2nd coming of Christ; the restoration of the prophetic ministry…is the greatest sign of the nearness of Christ’s coming.”
On January 17 2026, I awoke to a statement “Does the Spirit plan to dwell with us again?” I knew it was a song and I found it: Is He Worthy? - Chris Tomlin
Does the Spirit move among us? (He does)
And does Jesus our Messiah
Hold forever those He loves? (He does)
Does our God intend to dwell again with us? (He does) …
Is He worthy? Is He worthy?
Of all blessing and honor and glory?
Is He worthy? Is He worthy? Is He worthy of this?
He is, He is
“Today’s prophets call the people forward into whatever new thing God is directing… And He answered and said, “Elijah is coming and will restore all things.” Matthew 17:11. Father God purposes for Elijah prophets to be major players in restoring all things and presenting them as gifts to His Son. Turning the hearts of fathers and children to each other is crucial to that task and is the special province of Elijah prophets. I believe every prophet alive today is called to be an Elijah prophet. Whatever else we are called to be and do, we are Elijahs. We are to walk in the spirit and power of Elijah." The Elijah Task: A Call to Today's Prophets and Intercessors: John Sandford, Paula Sandford.
I have been given the below scripture addresses for years starting in the early 2000s. I do not know how exactly they apply to me except He has told me I will ‘Prepare the way of the Lord.’ Have I prepared the way of the Lord already, or will I? Good question. Perhaps this website is to prepare the way of the Lord and manifest the glory that is coming. It is the work of His hands and I stand ready.
Matthew 17:11 “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things.’”
Malachi 4:5-6 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
Here is an excerpt from The Jezebel Spirit book (pages 22-23) by Francis Frangipane, which gives an excellent explanation to the above scripture verses about preparing the way of the Lord; it is also a parallel of what transpired in my prayer assignment for the church which had a hidden Jezebel spirit amongst the leadership.
“Two thousand years ago, Jesus stated the ministry of Elijah was not over. He promised, Matthew 17:11 “Indeed, Elijah is coming first and will restore all things.” Malachi the prophet wrote: Malachi 4:5-6 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. And he will restore.” Elijah is coming to war and restore! He came before the Great Day and he is returning before the Terrible Day of the Lord!"
Today, even as God did with Elijah and John the Baptist, the Lord is raising up an Elijah company of prophets: Spirit-filled men and women sent forth to prepare the way for the return of Christ!”
Luke 1:17 “And he will go on before the LORD, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the parents to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous-to make ready a people prepared for the LORD.”
James 5:17-18 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
I sense the Lord wants me to do something to prepare the way of the LORD. I asked and I heard “HASTEN THE DAY”.
"The day of hastening" refers to the eager anticipation and active preparation for the coming of God's judgment or Christ’s return, emphasizing both spiritual readiness and moral responsibility.
The phrase appears in 2 Peter 3:12, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God… a time when the heavens will be set on fire and the elements will melt with fervent heat. The Greek word behind "hasten" is pseudo, which conveys both eager expectation and active participation in God’s redemptive plan. "Hastening the day" does not imply that humans can change God’s timing, but rather that believers can align their lives with God’s purposes.”
So, in summary what does this all mean? Does our God intend to dwell with us again? I believe if we prepare the way of the Lord; what He is asking us to do in our own lives and for His Kingdom then He will come and dwell among us again in power. I ask you, who doesn’t want that?
And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come. Matthew 11:14.
