Chapter 6 ~ The Promise I Covet the Most

My most fervent and heart-felt prayer since 2014 has been for my physical healing.  Yes, I want the revival that the Lord has promised and that I have written about in Chapter Ten of My Sister’s Walk with God.  But my flesh and soul cry out for a revival in my physical body.  This is the promise I covet the most (while in the flesh) of all the assurances I have received from the Lord.

I have wondered why God is taking so long to heal and restore me, when I know He can do it like “that”!  I know, I know all the theories.  The Lord makes us wait to increase our faith, to perfect patience and long suffering in us.  Perhaps it is not the right time in His plan, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.  “But I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for good and not for bad, to give you a future and a hope.”  Yes, but I don’t want to wait any longer.  I have free will.  Why can’t I make the choice?  These are the conversations I have with my Creator.

What are some of the promises that God has given to me for my physical healing?  Here is a sampling of the verses (not to mention over 40 dreams of me being restored over the last 5 years):

“And He said to her daughter your faith has made you well go in peace and be healed of your affliction!” Mark 5:34.

“For the (wo)man was over forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed.” Acts 4:22.

“Let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.” Acts 4:10

“But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.””  Matthew 9:22.

If you have read my first book, I dedicate a chapter to my body.  The chapter includes how the Lord started to use my body as a sign for the church that I was interceding for.  It explains the weakness that I have experienced since 2014 (when the prayer assignment was winding down).  Over the years, the Lord has given numerous biblical addresses as to the source.  I will not reiterate them here as they are all documented in My Sister’s Walk with God, Chapter Eight.

The weakness I have experienced is an enigma to the doctors after five years.  Though I do have an auto-immune condition, weakness is not associated with the disorder.  So, where is it coming from?  When will it end?  And if this weakness has no physical root, could it be of spiritual origin?  The answer is yes, a definitive yes.  How do I know the source is spiritual?  Easy enough, God has confirmed the weakness and faintness is not mine, many times.

Have I doubted the source and purpose of my weakness?  Yes, of course.  I confess I have doubted.  I believe when you feel as bad as I have, that you can barely think of anything else.  Then, the enemy’s voice can become much louder and more convincing:” You will never feel better.  God is not going to heal you.”  And so, every few weeks for the past years, I have been on my face asking the Lord for the strengthening of my body.  He graciously responds to me with a dream or a scripture address to confirm my request has been heard and it is coming.  I admit I have lacked faith in this area to stand strong.

Burden Lifted, Strength Restored

I have concluded that in order for God to get the glory for my imminent healing and fulfillment of promises, I must proclaim what He has said years prior. I am reminded that without adversity I would not overcome, without adversity I would not grow and without adversity I would not hope.  Come to think of it, without adversities there would be no miracles!  Just believe.

So, what did He say???

"For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise." Hebrews 10:36

"The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together."  Romans 8:16-17.

“Daughter, you offered up your body, yes, even, your only body to Me as a living sacrifice and to that it will be accounted as righteousness.  See you could have said ‘no’, you could have gotten out of it, you could have backed down; but you stayed the course and as such, all will be blessed for your sacrifice.  And as I raise you up and restore your flesh, you shall by no means pass away.  All the hope, dreams and promises I have given to you shall come to pass before your eyes due to the faith you have shown.  You shall see the fulfillment of your actions play out.

You have no need to doubt My words to you but take every word captive to My will and wait this out with vigor.  Yes, vigor child, for I will restore and reinstate your strength for the next phase of your calling.  Treasure My words to you in your heart and call them forth in the day of trouble.  I will strengthen you for the work ahead”

"Enlarge the place of your tent, and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; do not spare; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes."  Isaiah 54:2.

"I am the Energizer and as I remove the burden from your shoulders, you shall see the glory.  The glory I give is as I see fit and no one can take your reward from you.  The glory that is coming and will be revealed is a glory that has not been seen on this earth.  It is a revelatory glory.  A glory that will reveal the hearts and minds of all that it comes in contact with…to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children and the wayward to the just.  For such a time as this it will be revealed.  And as your burden is lifted, I will send the glory to rest where the burden had resided.”

"He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."  Luke 1:17.
