Shipwrecked ~ Lightning Overhead

After writing and signing the Covenant of Peace with the Prince of Peace, I struggled with doubt of ‘What does it matter?’.  Then, I dreamed an interesting dream.  I sense the meaning can help us all, so I will share it.

In the short dream, I witnessed a group of people coming from a government building where they had tried to have a shipwreck removed from a beach.  I felt the government said ‘No’, they will leave it for now.  It was immovable. 

I saw the boat’s crushed bow, hull and sides mangled on the shore.  It was white.  I turned to meet a young blonde girl with her father who had come from the government meeting.  I asked her name and she said ‘Pam’.  I thought, ‘Oh, that’s my name, too!’.  The young lady proceeded to tell me that I had lightning around me, implying it was coming out of my head.

My first thought when I awoke was ‘I’m shipwrecked’; not a good thing for a Christian to think.  But, if this dream was from the Lord, then it has a positive message as well as an exhortation for me and perhaps, you.  So, let’s look at the symbols. 

A government is a higher power governing our lives, and if we are believers then it is God, His Word and His will.  If I see my situation as a shipwreck then, the government denial of removing it, makes sense.  I think the people petitioning the government are those including myself who have prayed for my healing.  But for now, it is postponed.

Having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck. 1 Timothy 1:19.

Okay, so that’s not very encouraging.  But wait!  The young lady ‘Pam’, who represented me with her father (The Lord) had a very exciting message for me.  She told me that I had lightning around me, implying it was coming out of my head.  What?  Good grief!  Lightning means “Gods voice; God interrupting an activity to get our attention.  Something happening or will happen suddenly; revelation; supernatural power.  Lightning is power and an instant miracle.” The Ultimate Guide to Understanding the Dreams You Dream.

I was given scripture as I prayed for revelation.  Then the Lord will be seen over them, and His arrow will go forth like lightning. Zechariah 9:14a.

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.  It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through Him that has completely healed him, as you can all see. Acts 3:16.

Let your light shine before men to glorify your Father in Heaven. Matthew 5:16.

The morning I typed the dream into my prayer journal, I opened my web browser to LIGHTNING!  Bing’s Home Page.  God was continuing to speak. 

I shared the dream with my friend and her reaction: “I was afraid, so…I haven’t wanted to know the meaning of this but God took me straight to an old art book that I never read and it opened to a painting of a shipwreck.  Wasn’t even thinking about the dream!  Perhaps, it means beached for repairs😊” 

What is the moral of the story?  Even though I (or you) feel like our faith or our situation is ship wrecked and beached…immovable, God has a message for us.  First, with the meaning of lightning understood; ‘Gods voice; God interrupting an activity to get our attention.  Something happening or will happen suddenly; revelation; supernatural power.  Lightning is power and an instant miracle’…that alone brings me great hope.

Second, the lightning also indicates that I need to shine light even through life’s circumstances as noted in the scripture given.  Let your light shine before men to glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16.

Around the same time of the dream, I read about more lightning!

He covers His hands with lightning, and commands it to strike. Job 36:32.
