Chapter 16 ~ His Emerging Glory

We are on the threshold of eternity...it’s imminent.  I can see it break through the mundaneness of my life, like pin holes of light poking through a dense covering. The light emanates through the darkness of my circumstances.  I see new pin holes in the covering, but it’s not enough for me...I want more light.  I want more light!

When will God tear the covering open to reveal His total brightness?  Oh God, rend the heavens and come down.  Make Your name a praise in all the earth but start with me!  They say good things come to those who wait...I’m waiting Lord!

Oh, that You would rend the heavens!  That You would come down! That the mountains might shake at Your presence.  (Isaiah 64:1).

For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him.  (Isaiah 64:4).

I begin this chapter on God’s emerging glory by asking a question of the Lord.  How is the coming glory of God and the revival that He has spoken to me about for over twenty years related?  Will the approaching glory bring in the revival or will the revival result in His glory appearing?  I await the Lord’s answer as I write in faith.

I hear the Lord say: “You are on the threshold of eternity…I have been preparing you all these years; in warfare, in silence, in humility, in sincerity, in persecution, in lack, in plenty…in all that I have allowed on your doorstep.  But I say to you, dear one, you are on the threshold of eternity with one foot on the earth and one foot in My Throne Room where My voice echoes in your ear.  I speak into your being and you are blessed, soon you will hear so much more.”

Peppered throughout My Sister’s Walk with God are dreams, prophetic words and scriptures referencing back to the Lord’s approaching glory.  These are covered extensively in Chapter Ten of that book.  So, why am I reiterating them again now?  Because I believe God will justify those expectations shortly!

Let me give you some background on His emergent glory.  My involvement in God’s coming glory began on May 21, 2010 when He visited me in my prayer closet.  It was on that day I experienced the Oil in the Closet miracle (posted under Miracles & Fulfilled Prophecy Archives).  Oil in the Closet Miracle – Believe Miracles Are for Today (believemiraclesr42day.com)

My apprehension at this point is that I don’t know what His up-and-coming glory will look like.  I recall a few dreams of such, but mainly prophetic words.  One of which is “A Time of Bridal Preparation”: “There will be a time of great harvest and multiple sightings of My Spirit and angelic host.  It will be a time of bridal preparation, a feast for the soul, a delight for the senses.  I will inhabit the praises of My people and set My sanctuary with you once again.  I will come in power and fill My people to overflowing and you will say, ‘Enough, enough already, I cannot contain it all!’ but you will not or cannot contain it, for it will be ME!”

My heart still rejoices when I read these words and my passion is awake for His fulfillment.  What is He waiting for?

“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’  Amen.  Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”  (Revelation 22:20).

“For the Lord shall build up Zion; He shall appear in His glory.”  (Psalm 102:16).

Azusa Street & The Glory of God

Have you heard of Azusa Street?  I don’t recall how I first heard about Azusa Street but I know it became more interesting in 2010 and months after the miracle of oil in my closet, when I had two successive visions.  The two visions were of rain falling in my closet and the other was of a man’s arm growing out under his white shirt.

Here is a summary of the celebrated revival from Wikipedia: “The Azusa Street Revival was a historic revival meeting that took place in Los Angeles, California.  It was led by William J. Seymour, an African American preacher. It began with a meeting on April 9, 1906, and continued until roughly 1915. The revival was characterized by spiritual experiences accompanied with testimonies of physical healing miracles, worship services and speaking in tongues. The participants were criticized by some secular media and Christian theologians for behaviors considered to be outrageous and unorthodox, especially at the time. Today, the revival is considered by historians to be the primary catalyst for the spread of Pentecostalism in the 20th century.”

In 2011, spurred on by an interest in Azusa Street, I bought a book titled “Azusa Street ~They Told Me Their Stories”.  Though the book is filled with miraculous stories from the revival, I was taken by three in particular.  The first was about the cloud that filled the Azusa Street warehouse for almost three and a half years.  In the book, they refer to the cloud as the Shekinah Glory of God.  One of the children present said it was like ‘breathing pure oxygen from heaven’.

The second wonders that fascinated me were stories of the fire of the Holy Ghost. People actually saw fire on the rooftop of the building and called the fire department many times. The fire trucks would arrive but the building wasn’t burning.  It was said that when standing at a distance from the building, you could see fire coming up from the roof of the building and fire coming down from the skies to meet the fire from the building!

And the last occurrence that enveloped me was when a man’s arm grew back into his shirt.  In essence, Rev. Seymour slapped a man’s shoulder in jest and the arm actually grew out.  Of course, I was fascinated by this miracle because months earlier, I saw it happen in a vision while praying in my closet before I read the book!

As I prayed and pondered Azusa Street, I received Isaiah 4:5: “Then the Lord will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion, and above her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night. For over all the glory there will be a covering.”  It represents what I perceive in my mind took place in that warehouse over 100 years ago (the Shekinah Glory of God).

By the way, Rev. Seymour prophesied in 1908: “In about 100 years or so there would be an outpouring of God's Spirit and His Glory that would be greater and more far reaching than what was experienced at Azusa. “

Now I submit to you that the coming revival is not going to look the same.  Imagine though that what happened at the Azusa Street revival will not be duplicated but it will be quadrupled to a new effect!  As He spoke to me before, the end-time revival that is coming will be like no other.  As the Lord told me: “I do not want My people stuck looking for a move of My Spirit that has come and gone”.

The Shekinah Glory of God

What is the Glory of God (Shekinah) you may ask?  From Wikipedia: “The Shekinah (She·ki·nah) is the English transliteration of a Hebrew word meaning "dwelling" or "settling" and denotes the dwelling or settling of the divine presence of God.

The Shekinah is referred to as manifest in the Tabernacle and the Temple in Jerusalem. It is also reported as being present in the acts of public prayer.  The prophets made numerous references to visions of the presence of God, particularly in the context of the Tabernacle or Temple, which have traditionally been attributed to the presence of the Shekinah.”

The other morning, I awoke to a scripture address:  Mark 2:22 “’And no one puts new wine (revelation) into old wineskins (tradition; wrong or obsolete doctrines); or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins (new vessels prepared to receive His glory).’”

And a prophetic word: “You are in need of a break between the mundane and the magnificent. A break between what your eyes can see and what can be seen with the eyes of faith. A break from the old ways…the old wineskin and the new wine skin. Yes, My favor has been found upon you and I will visit in power. Power from on high will be your visitation. Wait a little longer as it will soon be poured out. Are you ready to receive it?

“The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”  (Isaiah 40:5).

I hope you are getting as excited as I am!  This is my ardent passion and desire to see this movement come to pass in my lifetime and for me to play a part in it according to Psalm 110:3 “Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power...”  I’m believing, will you believe with me?
