As I mentioned before, there are nine ministry callings or gifts: “Apostles; Prophets; Evangelists; Pastors; Teachers (the fivefold ministry); and then there are Helps; Government; Miracles; and Healing.  I like to think of the remaining four ministry callings as the Helping Hand of God.  Why?  Because they help the fivefold ministry.

We have looked at the fivefold ministry offices in addition to Miracles and Healings which we learned belong to the Office of the Evangelist.  We have two remaining callings to review, the Offices of Helps and Government aka Administration.  Both office callings are supportive to the Body of Christ in similar ways.  The gift of Government takes on a leadership type role, and the Office of Helps is more of an assistant or servant type role.

People with these callings serve behind the scenes supporting the needs of the ministry and the fivefold ministry.   These necessary offices are extensively important to keep the Body headed in God’s direction.  They are the Keepers of the Master’s house.

Office of Helps ~ an appropriate verse for this ministry calling is Philippians 4:3 And I urge you also, true companion, help these…who labored with me in the gospel…and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.  The Office of Helps is a breath of fresh air to the sometimes-weary ministry soldier.

Much more than the gifts of the Holy Spirit are the fruits of the Spirit in operation in this valuable ministry.  This calling is bountiful in fruit as they feel that better is one day in the Lord’s courts than thousands elsewhere!

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  (Galatians 5:22-23).

The spiritual gift of Helps gives one the ability to see what needs to be done and take care of it.  People with this gift have a desire to help others by meeting daily responsibilities in practical ways.  Rather than looking for someone else to do the task, they will often tackle it themselves. They are willing to “lend a hand” and do the most mundane and disagreeable tasks with a spirit of humility and grace. Helpers volunteer to work regularly around church buildings and grounds, often laboring in obscurity.”

For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.  (Psalm 84:10).

I found this additional explanation insightful from: What is the spiritual gift of helps? | GotQuestions.org

There is perhaps a deeper meaning to the spiritual gift of Helps. Since it is one of the spiritual gifts from the Holy Spirit, all of which are given for the building up of the body of Christ, the spiritual aspect of the gift of Helps is perhaps even more important than the practical aspect. Those with the spiritual gift of Helps have been given the unique ability to identify those who are struggling with doubt, fears, and other spiritual battles. They move toward those in spiritual need with a kind word, an understanding and compassionate demeanor, and the unique ability to speak scriptural truth in convicting and loving fashion. Their words are 'Like apples of gold in settings of silver' (Proverbs 25:11) to the spiritually weak and weary. These helpful Christians can quell anxiety in the downtrodden heart with cheerful and confidently spoken words of truth and joy.”
