I pray this recent dream encourages you as it suggests that I and we collectively need to keep hope alive.
In the first scene of the dream, I am on a trip with my sister, Wendy. I had no luggage and I tried to go back for it, without success. I found myself shopping for the trip. I was looking for shoes, extra clothing and toiletries. I did not buy anything and gave up looking. It didn’t seem to matter anymore. I thought “I’ll just go the way I am.”
In the second scene, I saw myself walking amongst crowds. Walking in different venues with purpose and far. I wore a cobalt blue pant suit with brown loafers. The shoes were well worn and I thought “I might as well keep wearing these shoes because they’re so comfortable.” The scene changed again.
Final scene, I walked past another group of people and up three steps. The top step was the highest to get up but I got up it. There was an exit door beyond the steps. As I reached the top step, I did not keep walking. I turned around and faced the crowd. The only emotion I remembered was that I was happy I got up the stairs. Upon waking, I heard “Keep Hope Alive. Nothing is lost to Me, daughter.”
As I discern this dream, perhaps God will speak to you as well. Receiving scripture with dreams really helps to understand what He is saying. And I did get a few verses.
Scripture addresses: “I will not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.” (Psalm 118:17).
Nevertheless, My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail. My Covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips. (Psalm 89:33-34).
The opening of a dream sets the stage as a rule. I thought I was unprepared to go on the trip. Unprepared to go on a mission for God. I tried preparing but in my own strength. I gave up. Soon, it didn’t matter to me which indicates an acceptance of my lack or perhaps it means I don’t need to be prepared because the Lord will provide.
As I walked through different people groups, I was walking with purpose and far. Walking is symbolic for the path of life, living in the Spirit and content in one’s spiritual progress. Comfort is represented by the shoes I was wearing. Shoes are symbols for words; the Gospel; covenant; and preparation. In addition, loafers are casual; at ease and unconcerned. Brown is humble; dead to self. But yikes…they didn’t even match my blue outfit!!!
I like the meaning of blue for my outfit. Meaning, wisdom and divine revelation. Revelation about a matter that is coming. I believe this to mean the work I’m currently doing; I am comfortable doing. Also, God gives me the wisdom and revelation to keep posting for His glory.
The final scene is a good lesson. The main symbols are the steps and the exit door. Looking at the three steps, the top step higher (third step) than the others. Three means a witness, divine fullness, and Godhead confirmation of things that have become complete. After prayer, the higher step indicates to ascend the steps of the Lord to the highest calling that He has asked of me. The exit door is a way out of what the Lord wants, but I didn’t go through it. I turned and faced the crowd (whomever God has chosen as my crowd ~ family, friends, strangers).
I believe this dream to be a little nudge and hug from heaven to say keep going. Stuff we think we need we really don’t need in order to be prepared because He prepares us. Though we feel unprepared we’re not. He prepares us in our STEPS.
Moreover, step higher to His highest calling. Turn around and face the crowd…face your crowd (great or small).
In conclusion, it’s not time to exit. Ascend to the heights of our callings; to the highest place God has given to each one of us. It is within our grasp. How do we do it? He sets our feet on high places and keeps hope alive!
He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places. (Psalm 18:33).
My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside. (Job 23:11).
Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ… (Philippians 1:6).
