Judgment and Warning

The last and most serious purpose angels serve in God’s kingdom that I will explore is judgment and warning.

And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.”  Revelation 16:1.

The Lord also gives His children warning through His angels: Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whomever you have in the city—take them out of this place!  For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.”  Genesis 19:12-13.

Angels can affect the physical world when fulfilling a retribution mission from God.  Then the angel of the Lord went out and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.  Isaiah 37:36.

I wonder if it was an angel from the Lord that struck down the Turkish Parliament member who called down a curse on Israel the moment he finished at the podium?  

Or more recently was it Michael, God’s Archangel who protects Israel, who cast down the Iranian president's helicopter from the sky?  Please watch the whole video below. It is amazing what is happening in our day, as well as Jonathan’s confirmation of Archangel Michael at 29:03 on the video.

The Bible tells us of some occasions when God orders angels to carry out His righteous judgment against sinners:

• An angel of God was sent to oppose Balaam and take his life (Numbers 22:21-35).
• God sent an angel to punish Jerusalem (2 Samuel 24:16-17, 1 Chronicles 21:15).
• An angel of the Lord took King Herod’s life (Acts 12:21-23).
• Christ Jesus will send His angels to cast offenders into the “furnace of fire” (Matthew 13:41-42,48-50).

And in the fulfillment of days, His holy ones will have a part to play.

Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to him, “How long will it take for the vision to be fulfilled…? Daniel 8:13.

See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him. Jude 14-15.
