Remember the wonders HE has done, HIS miracles, and the judgments HE pronounced, you HIS servants, the descendants of Abraham, HIS chosen ones, the children of Jacob. Psalm 105:5–6.
Being the only customer service person at Iron Mountain with thousands of customers, I was always time challenged, especially when I had to do research for a customer. One in particular was always having me do this research. The customer had me check records dating back years and I had to look through volumes of paper in file cabinets to find the answers (these were the days before PC’s).
One such time, I was so busy I prayed for God to help me as I started the lengthy search. I opened one of multiple fat files I had to look through for one piece of paper and the first file opened right to the document I needed! Bam! The Lord at work.
As busy as I was at Iron Mountain, I attended church on Sundays and every other week a bible study with friends. By this time, I was receiving a good number of prophetic words which I kept to myself. I found that IM was my ministry ground; I witnessed and prayed for people, employees and customers alike.
I was hired as the face to the customers and Taunya did the sales. Taunya became a believer along with quite a few other employees. By 1998, I was so overwhelmed at work I begged for another Account Manager and God answered my prayer, now we just had to find the right person.
The right person came in the form of Susan who I met miraculously at my first church prayer meeting. On a Sunday in 1998, as I sat in the sanctuary alone, the Lord spoke…He told me to start praying at the church. I told Him that unless they announce they need prayers I wouldn’t do it. The head pastor got up and announced for anyone interested in praying for Saturday night service to please sign up. I got my answer; I signed up.
The prayer pastor held a meeting for all new prayers, and I attended with much fear. I sat in my car praying before going into the meeting, I met the prayers and a particular woman (Susan) took interest in me. As she spoke to me, I heard the Lord very clearly say, “Tell her about the job,” meaning the job at Iron Mountain.
I argued with Him that she was too qualified; she didn’t want it and again He repeated, “Tell her about the job.” I still resisted. Then at the end of our conversation He yelled in my head, “TELL HER ABOUT THE JOB!” I blurted out that we needed people at Iron Mountain and she was interested, interviewed, and got hired.
Yes, and I ask you, my true companion, help these women since they have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers, whose names are in the book of life. Philippians 4:3.
Susan, a strong believer, had a gift of prophetic intercession and a vibrant personality. For whatever reason, our GM, John, didn’t like Susan’s style of work and after a short time, began to persecute her. It got so bad that Susan gave the Lord an ultimatum, “It’s either him or me, Lord”.
That very next day, we came to work just as John was being fired by the higher-ups! John was gone and Susan was delivered. Arise, Lord! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. Psalm 3:7.
Susan and I worked together, prayed together, and pretty much did everything together. It was wonderful. We even had prayer times in our office, and we made no qualms that we were believers and believed in the power of prayer.
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. Ecclesiastes 4:9.
