I awoke the other morning to a recollection of a dream from seven years ago.  It now started to make sense because I had just finished writing the post on The Gift of Faith ~ The Golden Rule.  In the conclusion of the article, I say: “It was the Gift of Faith that was the golden key and rule which opened the door.”  I now have the complete interpretation for the seven-year-old dream.  But first, here is a recap.

I was visiting a former place of work. I walked through the kitchen at the back of the house, down a few steps to the backyard where a plastic pool was located.  I had swum in it before. The backyard had patches of sparse grass and dirt where the pool used to be located.  There were puddles of water draining from where the pool had been. The pool was tipped over and standing against the outside wall of the building.

I left the house and walked up a long extremely steep flight of stairs.  I remember looking at the stairs thinking I would never be able to climb up.  But as I progressed, it was not hard to walk up the steps.  I found myself at the top of the lofty staircase.  A gold key appeared in my left hand.  I put the key in my left front pocket for safekeeping; the key was about three inches, ornate, solid gold.

Interpretation ~ The back of the ‘house’ (aka church) and going down a few steps (digressing) to the backyard indicates the past.  The pool was a spiritual place where I formerly used my gifts (swimming indicates ministry).  But the pool was plastic – fake, pliable, weak not strong, not built in or permanent; it was a temporary place of work (my job of intercession).  I left the house/church and progressed to a steep staircase.  A staircase is symbolic of moving from one level to another.

The stairs were steps; going up is making progress but it’s also hard work as the steps were steep and high.  This is indicative of my spiritual walk after I left the church.  Though the stairs looked steep and hard to climb, once I started upward, it wasn’t difficult at all (with God’s help).  Reaching the top of the staircase means that I have progressed to the next level in my walk with the Lord and the end of the arduous climb.

After the ascent, a solid gold key appeared in my hand…a key is knowledge, authority or understanding; a key unlocks something.  Gold is glory or wisdom,

truth, something precious.  I put the key in my front (future) pocket to keep it safe and to carry around with me.

The key was not used so it is to be saved for something special, unlocking the reason for the journey I am on...not yet revealed.  I had the key to hold so when the time comes to open a new door or chapter of my life, to unlock a golden opportunity, I have the key to do it.

“…and a door was opened to me by the Lord…”  (2 Corinthians 2:12b).

Now, here is where the current revelation comes in.  The golden key is the Gift of Faith that I need and will procure to finish my trial of affliction.  The Gift of Faith will allow me to unlock miracles for His glory.

Yet He knows the way I have taken; when He has tested me, I will come forth as gold.  (Job 23:10).

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  (James 1:2-3).

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.  (Hebrews 10:36).
