The tapestry of our lives is God’s handiwork if we let Him weave into it. God will weave in and out the thread of His mercy and grace through the pattern of our years. And pets are woven into this tapestry.
I know how the Lord feels about His creatures and what they mean to us in our lives. We are given the special responsibility to care for and manage His creatures according to: Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’”
I received this from our friend Greg and he’s allowed me to share it. I think it would touch everyone’s heart.
“God is calling my faithful dog Rocco home. As you know, our 13-year-old dog Rocco is nearing the end of his journey in life.

Yesterday afternoon, my daughter Crystal and I were sitting on the front porch as Rocco enjoyed laying on the cool grass. Crystal took a picture of him relaxing.
Today as we looked at the picture, we see a large cross of light extending down very near where Rocco was laying.

We think this is a sign from God that he is calling Rocco home to be with him. I cry as I surrender him to Gods hands. As Rocco leaves our care on this earth, he will soon be in Gods care forever.
Comforting…reminded me of the cross in your closet so I thought I would share.”
I asked Greg what would he have the Lord tell Rocco? I base this on an experience Bobby and I had with our precious pet Paia. The account is below.
Never expecting the death of our pet, Paia was taken quickly from us, dying in my arms on the way to the emergency vet. I was angry at God for not telling me that He was going to take her. I assume most people of prayer who hear God’s voice would feel betrayed. Why didn’t He warn me that she was going to die? In any event, Bobby and I were devastated. And as I wept in my prayer closet, I heard Jesus speak. “Write her a letter, both of you and I will read it to her”. So, Bobby and I separately wrote Paia a letter, and we placed it in a memorial box with pictures of her believing that God would read her our letters.
Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Lord, You preserve man and beast. Psalm 36:6.
“I would tell God: You gave us a sign that you were calling home Rocco, our loyal companion of 13 years. With tears, we handed him off to your loving care and eternal happiness. Thank you for all the joy, love and loyalty that he unconditionally provided our family. He will forever be remembered in our hearts.”
“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’” Revelation 5:13.
In the coming weeks I will share an incredible miraculous return of a lost pet. Stay tuned. More of Gods handiwork on the horizon.
