At last, we come to the final two verses of the Covenant of Peace which wraps it all up by indicating God’s ownership of us. Ezekiel 34:30-31 “Thus, they shall know that I, the Lord their God, am with them, and they, the house of Israel, are My people,” says the Lord God. 31 “You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord God.”
Of course, the Lord is speaking to Israel, but also to us as grafted in believers. And as believers, we are citizens of His Kingdom, the Kingdom of God; the Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of Peace. And the Ruler of our Kingdom of Peace is Jesus, the Prince of Peace. As such, God wants all to know that we are His people.
“Every prince has a territory or sphere of rule. In every kingdom, the king has a domain which he governs. Jesus is called Prince of Peace. His sphere of territory over which He rules is called ‘PEACE”. The domain ruled by a king takes on the nature of the king or prince. Jesus rules over Peace. Jesus is our King, we are subjects of His Kingdom, over which He rules. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost - our bodies are part of His domain. Our bodies must therefore be characterized by peace - whole, complete and in harmony.”

The Word, Jesus says in Luke 17:21: “For indeed, the kingdom of God is within us.” To me that means the Covenant of Peace is like a passport to the Kingdom of Peace (the Kingdom of God). We carry around the Kingdom in our hearts. Our citizenship is found in our mind and hearts’ behavior and attitudes of peace within us (our passports). I sense too, that our passports are stamped with our actions of faith. I pray my passport is full of stamps!
A passport is an ‘official document issued by a government, certifying the holder's identity and citizenship and entitling them to travel under its protection to and from foreign countries’. Remembering, this world is not our home, we are citizens of God’s Kingdom of Peace; His Government of Peace; and His Authority of Peace.
“One of the redemptive names of God is Jehovah Shalom – The Lord my Peace (Judges 6:24). Peace is not simply an emotion; Peace is a person – God Himself. Jesus is called “The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). To be at peace is to be in a state of internal composure and equilibrium by virtue of the person of God Himself. Part of this peace is to feel secure and safe, and thus have a sense of well-being and internal rest. All of this is part of biblical prosperity. If we are to prosper as our souls prosper (3 John 2), then the soul must be filled with the peace of God.
3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers, we must prosper …. (a) Spiritually (in spirit) (b) Mentally (in soul) (c) Physically (wellness in body) (d) Socially (in our relationships) (e) In terms of our successful execution of God's unique will with our lives. Shalom (Peace) denotes … totality or completeness, success, fulfilment, wholeness, harmony, security and well-being.” Peace of God.pdf (randolphbarnwell.com).
Furthermore, we enter into the Covenant and Kingdom of Peace (Go into Peace) with the gospel of peace on our feet. The Kingdom of Heaven is the Kingdom of Peace; “For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and PEACE and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17. As a result of willingly and mindfully living under this covenant, God blesses us and our lives become balanced. Then, outsiders will know the redemptive work of our God and be drawn into His kingdom.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9.
Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.” Jeremiah 33:9.
I hope you stay with me on this journey to enter into His Covenant of Peace to receive complete wholeness. Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
