I have to say when you walk in the fire of delayed answers as many of us have, I for one have a tendency to question whether I am on the right track.  Whether I am doing God's will as well as being in the center of His will.  If I am working to fulfill my end of the covenant, is He doing the same?  And yet there is one who has walked longer and farther than I have...Abraham!

A dream I was recently given gave me a kiss from heaven to keep me going.  This interesting dream was puzzling until God provided consistent scriptures pointing to the meaning.  I believe it will help you, too.

James 5:7-8: Therefore, be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain.  You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Here is the dream.  I was sitting on my bedroom floor when my real-life Daddy walked in the room.  He had just taken a shower and had khaki tan pants on.  He was much younger than when I last saw him in his late seventies.  In this dream he was 30, shirtless, tan and built very well!  I was taken back by how good he looked.  No words were spoken and before the dream ended, he leaned down and kissed me.

A scripture address was given to me upon waking, Genesis 15:3 about Abraham bearing offspring and God’s Covenant with Abraham (the whole chapter).  More verses came.

Galatians 3:18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Another verse was given and the title of the Psalm, “Remember God Keeps His Promises!”  Psalm 105:6-11 You His servants, the descendants of Abraham, His chosen ones, the children of Jacob. HE is the Lord our God; His judgments are in all the earth. HE remembers His covenant forever, the promise HE made, for a thousand generations, the covenant HE made with Abraham, the oath HE swore to Isaac. HE confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: “To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.”

Lastly, Isaiah 43:4.  What is so cool about this verse is that I wrote in my bible on 1/26/15 about a dream of Daddy.  In this seven-year-old dream, Daddy was tending a beautiful pool and expecting guests.  In the dream I told Daddy I would leave what I was doing to help Him feed His guests.  After taking His guests upstairs, I found a bountiful banquet laid for us to partake in!  Next to the dream in my journal, it reads Friends of Abraham and Feed My Sheep.”

As you can see, there is a pattern of Abraham appearing.  But still unsure of the meaning and through more prayer, I heard “Look to Abraham”.  I found that verse in Isaiah 51:2 “Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him alone and blessed him and increased him.”

A final exclamation point was given after the above scripture.  I heard the song “I Am a Friend of God” Hillsong – I am friend of God lyrics (allthelyrics.com).  Abraham was considered a friend of God!

So, let’s unravel this to behold the Lord’s meaning.  We all know that Abraham was in covenant with God and God fulfilled His promises.  Abraham is considered the father of our faith.  My real-life Daddy represented Abraham, bare chested and tan symbolizing his virility in having a child at the age of 100.  The kiss given to me means agreement of our covenant as well as, I think, understanding my emotions of waiting!  Perhaps, sympathy?

Abraham even being advanced in age, had the virility of a 30-year-old!  God did that.  Abraham was 70 years old (meaning God’s administration, insight or testing) when he received God’s promise.  When Abraham was 100 (meaning a full reward, maturity, the children of promise), the promise was fulfilled, and Isaac was born.   Abraham waited 30 years (meaning beginning of ministry, God’s work and the marking of the right moment) for the fulfilled promise.

In addition, in my dream, Daddy aka Abraham in tan (means dead or repentant) pants and a tanned chest represents redeemed sinners, dead to sin, God’s children of the Son and fulfillment of the covenant.  One gets 'tan' by being in the sun (SON)!

We are all under a covenant with God, the New Covenant.  But there are those of you (like me) who are under a personal covenant with God also, just like Abraham.  Recall my post on covenants (see link below). This dream is a hopeful reminder to us that the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob keeps His promises and covenants.

Join with me as I look to Abraham to strengthen our faith in waiting on the promises God has made us.  They are sure to come if we don’t give up our Hope.

Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.  (Habakkuk 2:3b).

For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”  And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.  (Hebrews 6:13-15).
