I’ve had a recent visit from Momma that I want to share as she became my confidant in the dream, as well as a reminder of what a wonderful mother she has been.  The Lord sent her to me recently during a time of seeking Him for this website’s direction.  I don’t plan in advance the topics of this site.  What I post is all directed by Jesus and the Spirit, though He gives me enough time to write what He directs.

With that said, I have not heard God speak on a new topic since the Covenant of Peace series.  I have sought Him for new revelation and direction earnestly.  After much prayer on the subject, I received a scripture: Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21.  

The same day I received the verse, I had a dream.  I found myself sitting on a mountain road.  I thought I was alone until I sensed Momma behind me, a little to my left.  She began asking me how this website was going.  I told her I was not sure what to write next; I didn’t have any clarity on God’s direction.  I told her of a few subjects I was praying on.  I even told her that I might stop writing.  She listened, then she spoke.

Momma responded with two views.  First, I have a responsibility to the readers to continue.  Next, she told me that she had been busy with some other things but now she has been tasked or assigned to helping me with this site.  Almost like an administrative assistant.  It was a normal conversation, like one would have with a friend.  It was very comforting, and I was surprised that she was assigned to help me.  I was so happy she would do that for me.

In the morning when I got up, I was reminded that mothers symbolize wisdom and comfort.  Perhaps, the Holy Spirit.  Then the Lord also reminded me of His mother’s name, Mary.  Soon, it dawned on me that my mom’s name was Mary, too!  And a song played in my head: ‘Let It Be’ by The Beatles.

When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be

And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me

There are times when only a mother’s love can comfort us.  There are times when one yearns to feel the presence of loved ones who have moved to heaven.  My mom was a great mom, she was my guiding voice into adulthood.  I felt her love, protection, acceptance and guidance but she was not always my confidant.  In this dream, she became my confidant and friend.

I like this explanation of a mother.  I could not have said it better: “The meaning of being a mother is virtually endless. A mother is a protector, disciplinarian and friend. A mother is a selfless, loving human who must sacrifice many of their wants and needs for the wants and needs of their children. A mother works hard to make sure their child is equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities to make it as a competent human being. Being a mother is perhaps the hardest, most rewarding job a woman will ever experience.”  The Meaning of Being a Mother | Hello Motherhood.

Doesn’t that definition of a mother (in part) remind you of how the Holy Spirit interacts with us?  Certainly, a Comforter!  This dream is also a reminder that the Lord will guide us when we have no compass of our own.  To God be the glory.

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.  John 14:26.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.  Psalm 32:8.
