Sunday mornings are hard for me. For one thing, I no longer have a church I attend nor could I if I wanted to because of my weakness. It has been this way for a while and the Lord knows this. It is His will for now.
I sat on my bed this past Sunday putting on socks when I smelled a familiar sweet scent. I kept sniffing in the aroma which puzzled me as I began to recognize the smell. It took a few whiffs to realize it was grape juice! I then thought of communion. I asked Jesus why I smelled grape juice, quickly dismissed the thought and finished dressing.
Later in the morning, I tuned in to watch Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, Beth Israel Special Online (bethisraelworshipcenter.org). During his introduction he mentioned today would be a special day. We were to get a cracker and juice, yes, grape juice he said for communion! I cried knowing the Lord wanted this time of communion with me and my husband.
I listened to the service which exhorted us to trust in the power of God’s word. “If you hear the word and you don’t do it, you’re missing the power…if you’re not taking it seriously, you miss the power. Go, take the word to all the power and it will be real to you and you have no idea what would happen in your life! So don’t be bound by the reality around you, be loosed by God. And you will do in the word and by the word what you could not do without it…that’s where the power of God comes in the form of miracles!”
“The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine (grape juice!) and oil.” Joel 2:24.
“…We will remember your love more than wine.” Song of Solomon 1:4.
I encourage you to have a time of private communion with your Lord…don’t forget the cracker and grape juice!
