He Gave Gifts Unto Men ~ Source material for series

As we investigate the Ministry Offices of the Holy Spirit, I wanted to reiterate a story on the source material that helped guide this series because it would be a good resource for your God library. In February of this year, I pondered writing this current series “He Gave Gifts to Men”.  Through prayer I decided on the name based upon Ephesians 4:8: Therefore, He says: “When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive and gave gifts to men.”

As I searched the internet for a picture to illustrate the first post, I found a PowerPoint Presentation by Kenneth Hagin on the gifts.  The name of the author sounded familiar, but I couldn’t place how.  I saved the presentation as background material for the series if I needed it.

The next morning as I awoke, I remembered having a book in my library by the same name as the title of this series.  In fact, it was a gift from a customer from my Iron Mountain days.  Mind you, the book was given to me sixteen years ago!  And I don’t remember reading it.

I pulled out the book and to my great surprise it was written by the same author as the PowerPoint Presentation, Kenneth Hagin!  I opened the book and read my notes on the title page.

My customer, Bong, signed the book.  He wrote on 12/31/05: “Sis Pam, May the Lord God reveal to you what you are searching for through this book by the unction of the Holy Ghost.  God bless and Happy New Year.  I love you, sis.  Brother, Bong.”

And now my inscription: “I’ve been praying since 2004 about why my gifts and what I read in scripture does not line up with what I am experiencing at my church.  Today, January 16, 2006, I visited my Customer, Bong.  As I did, he gave me this book.  He told me he had a dream last night.  In the dream, he said “Well, there is sister Pam” and we talked in his dream.  In the morning, the Lord told him that I would be visiting today and at what time I would be coming.  He was told by the Lord to give me the book. The book is dated almost a month before I got there!  Thank You, Jesus!”

He had signed it In December 2005 a month before I showed up to get the gift in January 2006.  If that weren’t cool enough, it is written by Kenneth Hagin…the same man as I got the PowerPoint Presentation from and it is the same title, He Gave Gifts Unto Men:!

The Lord used this book received over fifteen years ago to help me organize the series you are currently reading.  Only God could arrange that!
