Demon of Doubt

As I contemplated writing this series on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, I admit I had doubts.  I had a hard time arranging my thoughts on the subject.  The confusion in my mind was unusual since writing these articles has not been hard for me in the past.  I reasoned that there are so many books, articles, teaches, etc. on the subject already available, perhaps the Lord doesn’t want this. 

Then I dreamed.  I was lying on my bed resting when a dark figure sat at the bottom side of the bed.  I literally felt it’s weight as it settled and sank on the bed.  I asked, “Who sat down?”, but it was silent.  I then knew it to be a demon.  Once I realized its identity, I prayed it away with my prayer language (tongue).

As I prayed for the name of the entity, I heard ‘demon of doubt’.  Lately, I have had much doubt.  Doubt that anything good will change at my old church, my physical condition and of course, the writing of this article on the gifts. 

Then, the Lord gave scripture: Psalm 56:5-6 All day long they twist my words; all their schemes are for my ruin. They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, hoping to take my life.

Know that once you start the journey to find your gifts, the enemy will target you.  Be on the lookout for any demons of doubt lurking to thwart your attempts.  We will not be afraid because God already has made a way for us.
