Comes in Like a Flood

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.  Isaiah 59:19.

The morning I received this verse, I did not know it was a warning.  The next few months would be challenging and still are at this writing.  I am blessed that God warned me but was unaware of what the dream meant at the time. 

I could have prepared more in prayer, but I did not.  It started with a nap dream which found me driving my husband westward (like Isa. 59:19) on a street.  I made a right hand turn around a car that was to my right (an illegal turn in real life)!  So, I turned right from the left lane, and I knew it was wrong but turned anyway.

I continued driving eastward (after another right turn, making it like a U turn in direction).  We came to roadwork stopped by cement roadblocks. I had to slam on the brakes when I looked up and saw a huge wall of water heading into us.  We were going to be flooded.

Urgently, I backed up and drove to the right where a man was directing us to a detour.  The detour was being built as the water kept coming.  I whimpered and forced myself to wake up.

Save me, O God! For the waters have come up to my neck. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing; I have come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. Psalm 69:1-2.

In a prayer time with a friend, she interpreted my dream. Though I sinned (making an illegal turn); knowing it was wrong, the Lord built a detour to save us anyway.  He provided a way around the flood.  I must admit, I don’t know what my sin is or was but I asked.  I received a vision or recollection of a dream from 2021, Fiery Globe.  This was my prayer partner’s dream and unbelievably it references the Isaiah 59 verse from my flood dream!

The Fiery Globe dream represents the boldness and slyness of the enemy in these last days.  A quote from the interpretation: “Fire is used by God as a cleansing agent, a purging as to go through the fire and the Holy Spirit.  To test us and purify our hearts readying us for His presence, we will be saved through the fire.  Our God is a consuming fire!  And even though the demon was allowed to start the fire, the Lord used it to send His followers to higher spiritual ground for the safety of His presence.”  I didn’t experience fire, but flooding can be from the enemy as well.

Perhaps my sin was not being aware of the enemy’s hand at work or it’s still hidden until His Spirit reveals it.  In the past, God has warned me quite openly about the enemy’s intentions.  Lately, it has not been so apparent.  Have I grown lazy or dull in perception?  It seems I have because I don’t perceive myself as much of a threat to the enemy unlike when I was involved in God’s assignment against Jezebel.   

But the Holy Spirit is our great Teacher, thank God for that!  And praise to Him for making a way through the flood.
