Bitterness of a Different Kind

During the process of working through the Forgiveness Project requested by the Lord, I dreamed.  I thought my plate was full with my former church’s leadership and others I knew I needed to forgive.  But God made it clear, I had retained bitterness of a different kind for a group of people I had to confront.

Now, I do my best to keep worldly affairs off of this website as its purpose is for the glory of God.  However, the Lord made a point in this dream that perhaps others out there are struggling with this same bitterness towards a group of people.  Namely, our country’s leadership (all parties).

Here is the dream.  I am dressed in a black cat suit!  I had no tail and no ears; it really wasn’t a costume but a very tight-fitting black one-piece garment.  I noticed that I had a nice figure in the outfit and as I walked through a door, people behind me made ‘cat calls’.  Perhaps, that’s how I knew I was wearing a cat suit.

The time had come for me to do something that I had been planning (along with other people) regarding our current President.  I saw the first lady obscurely with women partiers in the scene.  It was time for action, and I sent the President out.

As I sent him out, he was walking aimlessly on a lonely, wooded street looking through fences and foliage along the roadside.  He was wandering, peering through bushes along the road to see what was on the other side.  I felt it was a pointless activity he was engaged in.  I was walking behind him, following him, almost stalking him like a cat.  No words were spoken, and he did not know I was following him.

I woke to the forgiveness verse given in my original dream when God asked me to start the forgiveness project. Now, whom you forgive anything I also forgive for if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sake’s in the presence of Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:10).

What in the world?  This dream I believe revealed the desire from God to forgive the leaders of this country.  I sense that though God may show us how He feels about their actions, that is not an open door to release curses upon them.  I had to forgive them for they know not what they do (or maybe they do).  Either way, the Lord wanted it addressed.

But before I say more, let’s unpack the dream to see the symbolism in it.  I will start with the obvious, the black cat suit I wore.  Black is evil or a curse along with a cat (as in seeing a black cat traditionally represents bad luck).   And me dressed as such would indicate I am the one bringing the ‘bad luck’ aka cursing.  Yikes!

This point is solidified as I was stalking (as a cat would do its prey) the leader down a road…following him.  I also saw the first lady and her crowd to include in this action but earlier in the dream.  I did not follow them, only the President as I sent him out alone.  Sadly, he was aimlessly searching the wooded street peering through bushes and fences.  Looking for what, I do not know.  Perhaps, a way out.

Upon waking, the forgiveness verse played in my head making me realize that God was not happy with my attitude toward our current country’s leadership.  I know the Lord is not political and only looks at our hearts, no matter who we are.  This dream told me that I am stalking the leadership with my distain of them (on all sides, I might add) almost like a curse.

Isn’t that what we do when we speak (or think) evil or unkind of someone; it’s a curse, plain and simple.  Remember in a previous post, God’s explanation of cursing someone: “Make sure no curse against them crosses your tongue, the enemy would use this to keep them in bondage, he will also use your words to accuse them before Me.  So, choose wisely the words that cross your lips and do not speak accusatory things.  Be a blessing in your speech and I will use it to free them.”

This exhortation was given regarding Christian leaders, but it is truly for all we speak about with malice.  According to James 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

I won’t lie, I am not happy with direction of our country, but I know God is allowing it.  He puts leaders in place and takes them out.  As I have said before, our country is under national judgment, and it will continue to get darker until the Lord responds to our prayers.  Until then, I want to shine in the darkness and the darker it is, the brighter our lights will shine!

… that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world…Philippians 2:15.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:16.

Join me in praying for our leadership:  I forgive you for your decisions that do not line up with the Word of God; for your deceptions and ungodly ambitions.  I bless you with the fullness of Christ’s wisdom to lead and the fear of the Lord for your actions, words and plans.  May the light of His Word guide your thoughts.  I pray you do no further damage to our country and that you find salvation through Jesus realizing that you are sinners just like the rest of us.

Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth.  Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.  Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little.  Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. Psalm 2:10-12.

Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.  1 Timothy 2:1-2.
