“Write what you hear, daughter; the Army of the Lord is about to be seen by His church.  Yes, the Army of the Lord is near, nearer than you could ever imagine and the purpose is to bring in the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of the Great King, the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus, the Christ…the Army of the Lord will come to bring in the age to come.  Watch, yes, be watchful and know the time is almost here.”

Do you want to be in the Army of the Lord?  Do you want to enlist?  I did not know there was such a thing as Godly Armed Forces.  It took a dream in 2014, before I left my corporate career, to alert me to such a thing.  I had finished the church prayer assignment and was exhausted at the time this revelation arrived.  I also thought of myself as a failure in that job assigned to me.

The dream begins with me in a training situation, wearing a green and tan colored uniform with boots.  The writing on the back of my shirt denoted ‘special forces’.  I was ushered into the training by a sergeant.

I went through the training but I felt I hadn’t finished the course as I exited.  In the training there were guns and tactics used.  I was feeling dejected because I lost my boots in the training; I came out without shoes on.  I flunked out of the training.

I sat on a bench outside the training room.  I knew I didn’t pass the test; I had failed.  The sergeant approached and I confessed that I lost my boots in the training room.  Without saying a word, He went back into the training room; I thought to look for my boots.

The sergeant came back out holding, not my boots, but a can of Hershey’s cocoa mix.  As he handed me the cocoa, he said, “This will hold you over until Monday when you start.”  I start?  I passed?  I sensed it was Friday and I only had to wait over the weekend to start the new job on Monday.  I was so thrilled that I got the job; I couldn’t believe it.

I awoke to a song playing in my head: “You’re in the Army Now,” from WWII.  Scripture address after prayer:  Luke 1:17 “He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”  And Zechariah 10:12 “’So I will strengthen them in the Lord, and they shall walk up and down in His name,’ says the Lord.”

The Army is symbolic of a group of people with the same goals united for a cause.  The training room was my former prayer assignment, which I believed I failed at.  The writing on the back of my shirt, “special forces”, I have had in later dreams where I was trained in special forces, indicating a certain spiritual warfare ability.  But I lost my boots, again symbolizing my belief of my failure at the ended assignment or training.

The sergeant (whom I believe to be the Commander who heads up the Army of the Lord as in Joshua 5:15) listened to me as I lamented about losing my boots in the training.  I felt totally rejected, dejected, and a failure.

Yet, the sergeant didn’t seem to care about my lost boots (my past warfare job; boots are symbolic of war).  He simply handed me a can of cocoa (sweet and comforting), gave me the good news that I passed the course, and my new assignment would start on Monday.

I knew it was Friday (the end of a work week, the end of my assignment), and the weekend indicated a season of rest.  The song I awoke to from WWII, “You’re in the Army Now”, was the icing on the cake; God does have a sense of humor and the song helped me know that the dream was from Him.

Elijah Among Us by John Loren Sandford page 203 reads, “Prophets are like drill sergeants for the church’s base camps or perhaps inspectors who come around to see how well the sergeants and trainees are doing.  Learning to be an accurate prophet is tough, it demands the ability to live with repeated humiliation…having enlisted in the Lord’s Army, do not become a deserter.”

In a similar dream titled: Jeans Drying for Monday, you will see the common thread of the Army of the Lord.  I ask again, do you want to enlist?  If so, ask God to prepare you and to start training you now for the Day of the Lord is coming.

All who call upon His name need to be prepared.  The Eye of the Lord moves throughout the whole world to find those who are loyal to Him, will you be one of these for God?  Prepare your hearts now; prepare to be enlisted; let Him train you to give up your worldly wants and ‘stuff’.  Have one foot on this earth and one foot in heaven.  For the Day of the Lord is coming and the Great Gathering will be upon us soon!  Be a part of it, be prepared, be alert, be a volunteer in the Day of His great power!

Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power. Psalm 110:3.
