Amber Glory of God

Six months into the pandemic, I dreamed a dream that was ripe with the symbolism of God’s glory.  I call it the Amber Glory of God.

A woman came to visit me, she was very business-like.  When she arrived, I sensed she was waiting for me as I was waiting for her.  She took me to a house that was wind swept and had open floorboards like a river had eroded its foundation.  This was not my house she said.

The woman then showed me my house.  The house was built into the side of a large mountain. The mountain was cut away at its base where my house was built.  She inferred it was a good thing.  I heard the song: “On Christ the sold rock I stand all other ground is sinking sand...”

In the final scene, the woman was giving out gifts and I wanted what she was gifting.  In fact, I tried to take a man’s gift that she had just bestowed on him, but he wouldn’t give it up.

I was disappointed until I realized that she indeed did leave me gifts!  I viewed a table where there were two items laid out.  Apparently, when she departed, she had prepared a luscious food dish for me.  The dish was overflowing and a golden amber color.  The food was fried in golden oil. 

Next to the meal in a large golden container (water pitcher-sized) was an amber-colored oily fragrance. I was excited to see that she left gifts for me.  It seemed the amber color stood out the most in the dream.

First, who was the visiting woman?  Business-like, authoritative yet kind.  A woman who gives gifts could be an angel.  In addition, I wonder if she could symbolize the Holy Spirit.  I say this with great trepidation not to stir up any controversy, but I did a little research. 

According to Gender of the Holy Spirit - Wikipedia “In Hebrew the word for Spirit (ruach) is feminine, (which is used in the Hebrew Bible, as is the feminine word "shekhinah" in rabbinic literature, to indicate the presence of God.”  

The shekinah glory of God?  More evidence the feminine presence could have been the Holy Ghost is that the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

Let’s take a look at what I trust the remaining symbols represent.  A mountain is indicative of God’s glory; Christ, our Rock; favor of God; or a place of revelation or meeting with God.  My house was at the base of the mountain, it was a good thing to live at its base.  The song I heard upon waking helped cement that meaning, as did a scripture address: Psalm 36:6 “Your righteousness is like the great mountains.”

The color amber is like gold.  Gold is indicative of God’s glory, a seal of divinity, wisdom.  And oil/perfume is also associated with the glory and aroma of God.  The fragrance of the Holy Spirit and a healing medicine.  I heard upon prayer – “He will arise with healing in His wings” from Malachi 4:2 “But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves.”  Grow FAT!  Fat is an oil, like the golden oil!  And the food dish could be the nourishment I need to regain my strength.

In addition, the gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit are to be shared.  They are also to be used for God’s glory.  I am waiting for the Lord to instruct me how to share the oil and the luscious meal He has provided.  I believe this dream to be a preliminary dream of what God has prepared in advance for me to share in His work.  It is coming…will you partake with me?
