The Lord of Heavenly Armies ~ Introduction

Since I believe we are in the end-times, we are seeing increased activity in demons.  We can see it in our society; irrational reactions to Israel; and certainly, in our country’s leanings.  But with the increase in demonic activity, there will also be seen an increase in angelic activity. 

I hadn’t given a whole lot of thought to angels until recently, because I have had two dreams which brought them to the forefront.  Visit  Watchman Dreams to read ‘A Company of Angels’.  

I am careful not to dive into something too deeply, if Lord is not leading.  However, I believe He is wanting me and us to understand more about this subject.  So, we will seek to understand just as Elisha prayed for his servant’s eyes to be opened to the spiritual realm and the Lord’s Heavenly armies.   

We can do the same.  “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”  And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.  2 Kings 6:16-17. 

Knowing this, I am led to take some time to do a study on angels.  If you didn’t know, just as we are curious about angels, they are curious about us…more on that later.  But, if we seek ‘first’ the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, all these things will be added unto us (Matt. 6:33).  Once we seek the Lord’s Kingdom and His righteousness, then we can move on to seeking the other things that God wants to show us.

Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.  Jeremiah 33:3.

I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel. Isaiah 45:3.

I have two stories to share regarding seeking to understand where angels have intervened.  The first one happened when I sought guidance on putting my beloved pet down.  When it came time to end her life, I had great anguish.  I couldn’t bring myself to the decision.  I needed guidance, so I prayed fervently for the Lord to show me the answer.  He did by sending a child angel with the answer.

She gently led me to a grave.  I leaned down, I listened closely.  I could hear this incredible singing coming from the grave!  Then the little girl said that my dog was praising the Lord, the God who created her was singing!  Bahia had joined a huge chorus of animals that had died and were buried under the ground; they were all singing in their own animal language praises to the Lord! 

And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea and all that are in them, I heard singing: “Blessing and honor and glory and power be to Him who sits on the Throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever.” (Revelation 5:13).

The second example of God sending an angel with His answer was Daniel, and how he sought to understand the future of his people.

Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.”  Daniel 10:12.

“God is not a respecter of persons. He sent an angel for Daniel’s word.  The angel said, God heard you the first day, but Satan hindered the angel, who had to receive help, until the battle was won.  God is listening to our prayers and will send an angel, for our words as well, if we hold on and believe that God will answer.”  Wanda Rust.

And so, we will ascend into the heavenly realm to behold what the Lord wants to show us.  If you will go with me on this adventure, make sure you have on the armor of God.  While we will encounter holy angels, we may encounter fallen ones, also.  Nevertheless, the Lord did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind.  No confusion, because God is not the author of confusion but of peace... 1 Corinthians 14:33.

Ours is a walk of faith, “blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”  Angels don’t walk by faith they see God in the spiritual realm.  Our prayer should be to give us eyes to see and ears to hear in the spiritual realm to accomplish His purposes on earth. 

Pray with me: “Lord Jesus, open our eyes, Lord, so that we may see the spiritual realm You want to teach us about.  Amen.”

May our response be the same as Joshua when he saw the Commander of the Lord’s Army.

And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”  Then the Commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.”  And Joshua did so.  Joshua 5:14-15.

Let’s ascend!
