$500,000 Provision ~ A Double Portion

What thrills me about these true events is that they were a witness to those around me that God is real and He is alive and He answers prayer.

After the first couple years at Iron Mountain and John, the General Manager fired, we had a number of unscrupulous managers.

In addition, my position changed to account management and selling projects along with customer service at Iron Mountain.  Special projects were the hot item to push and we had to do so many per year to keep our jobs. 

I was working on a very large potential project with a customer that would make my year.  It was a cleanup project of boxes of records kept in railroad cars in Campo, tens of thousands of boxes that could be contaminated with the hantavirus.  The project was estimated at $250,000.

During the weekend, someone called a TV station and ratted out the customer, so they were in panic mode to clean up the Campo site. They called IM but the current evil GM took the call and the credit. 

They wanted me to lie about how this all came about. I told the General Manager and the District Manager that I do not lie. They laughed and said “Well, we do!” I was angry at their total disregard for integrity.

Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers; protect me from the violent, who devise evil plans in their hearts and stir up war every day. They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s; the poison of vipers is on their lips. Psalm 140.

They signed the deal without giving me credit and only gave me a tiny percentage of the project.  I was furious and betrayed by my own company and was going to quit my job. 

Then, the Lord very clearly told me to stay and gave me a promise that if I was obedient, I would also receive a double portion:  Deuteronomy 28:12 “The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”

I did stay and the very next year, the Lord doubled what I lost in the previous debacle. The heavens opened with $500,000 in projects for the year.  I was in amazement as the projects just rolled in!

I won a trip to Aruba, so did Susan and Taunya.  The Lord did as He promised and doubled my portion.  Colleagues kept asking how we did it; Susan and I responded, “Prayer!”

Return to the stronghold, O prisoners who have the hope; This very day I am declaring that I will restore double to you. Zechariah 9:12.
