He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. Matthew 10:41.
The following dream is so encouraging that I have to share it. It was given to my gifted niece and the ramifications of the dream fit into this series on the colorful gifts (gems) of the Holy Spirit.
To give a little background, Carrie (my sister Mindy’s daughter), is like our fifth sister and she is wise beyond her years. In her recollection of the dream, she says “all four of you”, which means myself and my three sisters. So, here we go in Carrie’s own words.
“It was me, and all four of you. We were in Mama and Daddy's house and were getting ready to go to the mall. We were debuting Pam, showing her off for all to see her at the mall, to show what the Lord has done for her.
All of us were downstairs getting ready. I knew Pam was dressed very nicely, but I don't remember ever seeing her clothes. I looked down at her shoes and they were beautiful emerald, green block heels with a gold buckle on the top. I remember thinking ‘Oh, I need to go find a nicer outfit, we are dressing up.’ The shoes were very much the statement. Each sister had on jewel-toned block heels.
I went upstairs, a little distraught thinking I have not packed anything nice enough for the occasion. Wendy knew I was having trouble so, she changed into something more casual. A leopard skirt and a white tee shirt with black letters that said ‘Weeknd’. Wendy's shirt was related to Pam’s physical affliction. I remember thinking ‘Why's she wearing a ‘Weekend’ shirt?’
Upon waking, I thought it meant weekend, but after prayer I realized the Lord was saying ‘weakened’. In addition, the song It Is Well with My Soul, played in my head. Then, I knew the dream was from the Lord.
I knew we were taking Pam out to show what the Lord has done for her, and it was now time to go to the mall. We were going to celebrate. The emerald shoes were a huge focal point though I noticed you all also had on jewel-colored shoes. The shoes were like the picture below but with a gold buckle, they were so spectacular in my dream.
I believe a couple things ... the Lord is confirming my gift of prophecy as I have dreams God gives me that come true. During reading of this Gifts Series, which I have loved, I have been encouraged to learn more about all the gifts from your teaching.
In a nutshell, the jewel toned shoes confirm He's talking about gifts, and this is a prophetic dream. God names the affliction on Wendy’s shirt, and she helps me feel ready to go to the mall to show that the Lord has healed the ‘weakened’. That's My take and feelings after praying about it.”
See, what a gem this is of a dream? I am so blessed that our God can encourage us through someone’s dream. First, the dream encourages Carrie in her gifts and the use of them. Second, it definitely brings joy to my heart that the Lord would speak to her about my affliction and healing.
Then, my sisters are involved in the miracle, not to mention the jeweled shoes they are wearing😊
It’s pretty self-explanatory but let’s look at a few symbols for deeper insight. It took place at our family home which speaks to me that the whole family is involved in this event. The debut or showing off of God’s healing miracle is too much for me to fathom.
As Carrie rightfully interpreted, the jewel-colored shoes are gifts or ministries ‘walked in’ by us. Now, the emerald, green shoes being a focal point is important. Why? Because, green is the color I have assigned to the Gifts of Healing, not to mention the emerald rainbow around God’s throne. And, I had not told Carrie what color the Gifts of Healing was at the time of her dream!
Revelation 4:3 And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald.
The gold buckle on the top of the shoes is indicative of God’s glory; He will receive the visible glory of the miracle as represented on the ‘top’ of the shoes. In addition, the Lord gave me a scripture address for the dream, Psalm 91:4b His truth shall be your shield and buckler. Buckler…buckle!
Wendy’s shirt says it all: ‘Weeknd’, which can also be pronounced Weak End! But a fun fact emerged when Carrie sent us this dream. It so happened that Wendy was planning on buying a leopard skirt or dress and hadn’t yet purchased it! This dream helped confirm she should buy it in faith for my healing but also, that God gave Carrie a real fact in her dream to confirm its authenticity.
See how cool dreams can be especially when used for the encouragement of the body of Christ. Thanks, Carrie, for being God’s conduit of joy to a weary waiting soldier…me!
