Mikie’s Medical Miracle

This is a true account that happened in 2024.

My sister-in-law Mikie is the matriarch of my husbands’ family since their mom went to be with Jesus over 10 years ago. She is the epitome of a devoted wife, mother and grandmother with boundless kindness towards others. 

Mikie has known some difficult times in this life.  I’ve seen her be a courageous example and an optimistic heroine through it all.  God sees the same and more because He sees her heart.

She called us in March of this year to tell us that she returned from the doctor and had stage four cancer.  The pet scan showed cancer from her earlobes down through her body.  She described it as a blue carpet, not good.  After that phone call, my heart cried in a special way for Mikie.  I believe it was the Lord’s heart prodding me to intercede for her.  I was faithful to answer the call.

On June 6^th, Mikie called the night before her fifth chemotherapy session.  At the end of the phone call, I proclaimed to her what I believed were the Lord words, “Remission…You will be in remission.”  The next morning, I got up knowing she would go to chemo again and I asked the Lord that she would be in remission.

You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, and you will pay your vows.  You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you. Job 22:27-28.

The same day around 2 o’clock, Mikie called and had returned from her treatment appointment.  She told us she couldn’t believe it. The doctors told her she is in remission!!!  Apparently, on a more recent pet scan there was no more blue and the doctors were amazed.  

In addition, we asked Jesus for less chemo treatments.  More good news came, the doctor reduced her chemo appointments because she was doing so well. Of course, I couldn’t help but be so excited that the Lord had grace and mercy on Mikie.  

Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” Mark 10:52. 

That night I texted her a ‘Praise You, Lord Jesus’ (pictured below) and I went to bed. In the morning, I received a text response from Mikie telling me that as she was praying with her eyes closed, she saw these upraised hands before looking at my text picture!

Another good report came out of this.  Her granddaughter (who I have been praying for for over a year to come to the Lord), called Mikie and told her she was so happy about the remission.  Mikie told her that if she has never believed in the Lord before she needs to know now that He is real and He did this healing.  Her granddaughter said she does believe in God and the Lord.  Wow, I’m still exasperated!

Mikie’s final pet scan just took place. She’s good, she’s clear and is officially in remission. There is no doubt in my mind that God stepped in and performed a medical miracle for my sister.  For such a time as this, He is revealing that He is still the Lord who heals.

I pray this is an encouragement to all who might call on the name of the Lord for His power in their life. Praising God with you, Mikie…hallelujah! 

Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. Matthew 8:3.
